A tranquil Dutch landscape depicting a family of mallards and ducklings gathered along the edge of a quiet waterway. Sheltered beneath an old willow tree, the birds rest among tall grasses and water lilies, while soft light is reflected across the surface of the water.
Description
The composition is painted in a detailed impressionistic realist style, using atmospheric greens, muted blues and earthy brown tones. The large willow gives the scene depth and structure, while the carefully observed ducks bring warmth and gentle movement to the peaceful landscape.
We chose this particular work for its wonderfully calm and nostalgic atmosphere. There is something especially appealing in the intimacy of the scene: the family of ducks resting together beside the water, surrounded by lush vegetation and softly filtered light. It is a decorative yet peaceful painting, with a timeless Dutch character and a natural palette that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The painting is presented in the vintage wooden frame shown in the photographs. Its dark brown and black tones, enriched with subtle gold-coloured detailing, complement the natural palette and traditional character of the landscape particularly well. The frame is included in the sale.
