H. Noordam (1938). Farmyard with a Peasant Woman – Oil on Canvas

A charming and atmospheric oil painting depicting a quiet Dutch farmyard. Traditional buildings surround the courtyard, discreetly animated by a peasant woman working among her birds.

Description

Painted with visible, expressive brushstrokes, the composition is dominated by earthy browns, soft greys and muted greens, enlivened by warm ochre and terracotta tones across the rooftops. The broad, luminous sky brings balance and a gentle sense of openness to the rustic scene.

We chose this particular work for its peaceful atmosphere and wonderfully natural palette. The simple everyday subject is painted with warmth and sensitivity, capturing the quiet character of rural Dutch life.

The painting is presented in the beautiful open-corner Louis Philippe-style gilded frame shown in the photographs. Its aged gold finish and soft white-grey fabric fillet complement the understated colours of the painting particularly well.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
