Description

The simplified form, sweeping wings and energetic handling give the work a playful, instinctive character. The visible strokes and overlapping colours create a strong sense of movement, as though the bird is captured in flight.

Karel Appel was one of the central artists associated with the CoBrA movement. His work is recognised for its freedom, vibrant colour and imaginative, highly expressive figures.

We chose this work for its unusual composition and beautifully balanced palette. Despite its intimate size, it has a strong presence and immediately draws the viewer into its imaginative world.

The work is presented under glass, with a neutral passe-partout and a decorative vintage wooden frame in blue and gold tones. The frame is not original but complements the colours of the composition beautifully.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
