Description

Trees and flowering plants fill the foreground; behind them, yellow arches and tiled roofs give the scene its structure. Short, energetic brushstrokes bring movement to the foliage, while blues and greens sit alongside the warm colour of the buildings.

Van Trier was born in Tilburg in 1957 and enjoys painting outdoors. Here, his close attention to the garden makes a familiar historic setting feel immediate and personal. We chose the work for its lively colour and the way the quiet architecture holds the composition together. The broad gold-toned frame complements the painting and shows some surface wear.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
